Lexus GS Bluetooth Phone Setup Guide

This post will show you step by step how to setup your Lexus GS Bluetooth. Once you have completed these steps you should be able to use your mobile phone through the Lexus GS sound system.

  • On the Navigation System
    • 1. Press the “Menu” button.
    • 2. Select “Setup”
    • 3. Select “Bluetooth”
    • 4. Select “Registered Devices”
    • 5. Select “Add New”
    • 6. Enter or confirm passkey if prompted by phone.
  • On the Phone ( iPhone 4)
    • 1. Select “Settings” from the main menu.
    • 2. Select “General”
    • 3. Select “Bluetooth”
    • 4. Ensure Bluetooth is ON.
    • 5. Select your carkit from the list.
    • 6. Enter the PIN or confirm the passkey shown on the vehicle display.
    • 7. Select “OK” or “Pair” if necessary.

Now that your phone is connected, lets take a look at how to add entries to your phonebook, transfer phone numbers, set “Speed Dial” and how to actually make a phone call using the “Speed Dial”.

Adding an entry to the phonebook

  • On the Navigation System
    • 1. Press the “Phone” or “Off-hook” button.
    • 2. Select “Contacts”
    • 3. If the phonebook is empty and a “Manual” option is displayed, select it and go to Step 7. Otherwise, go to Step 5.
    • 4. If the phonebook is empty and the system does not display a “Manual” option, select “Yes” and refer to the instructions for transferring phone numbers from the phone to the vehicle.
    • 5. Select “Options”
    • 6. Select “Manage Contacts”
    • 7. Select “New Contact”
    • 8. Enter a name and select “OK”
    • 9. Enter a phone number and select “OK”
    • 10. Select one of the following: “Home”, “Work”, “Mobile” or “Other”
    • 11. Select “Yes” to add another contact number or “No” to complete the phonebook entry.

How-to transfer all phone numbers from an iPhone 4 to a 2013 Lexus GS 350

  • On the Navigation System
    • 1. Press the “Phone” or “Off-hook” button.
    • 2. Select “Contacts”
    • 3. If you are prompted to transfer or create contacts, select “Transfer” and if the transfer does not automatically start, proceed to “- On the Phone -”.
    • 4. Select “Options”
    • 5. Select “Manage Contacts”
    • 6. Select “Transfer Contacts”
    • 7. Depending on your phone’s capabilities, the system will prompt to either “Update Contacts”, “Replace Contacts” or “Add Contacts”
    • 8. If the transfer does not automatically start, proceed to “- On the Phone -”.
  • On the Phone
    • If phonebook transfer does not start automatically, please refer to the instructions for “Adding an Entry to the Phone Book”

How-to transfer a phone number from a 2013 Lexus GS phonebook to the vehicle “Speed Dial”

  • On the Navigation System
    • 1. Press the “Phone” or “Off-hook” button.
    • 2. Select “Speed Dials”
    • 3. Select any empty Speed Dial location.
    • 4. Select “Yes” when prompted.
    • 5. Select the desired contact.
    • 6. Select the desired phone number.

How-to make a “Speed Dial” phone call from a Lexus GS equipped with Navigation System.

  • On the Navigation System
    • 1. Press the “Phone” or “Off-hook” button.
    • 2. Select “Speed Dials”
    • 3. Select the desired Speed Dial number.
