Lexus to resume production for the CT200h!

Yesterday Toyota announced that it will resume Japan production Monday of the Toyota Prius, Lexus CT 200h and HS 250h at both the Tsutsumi and Toyota Motor Kyushu plants. This comes only one day after the announcement of production hold, and only a week after Toyota restarted production of replacement parts.

“1. Toyota To Resume Japan Production Of Prius and Two Lexus Hybrids On Monday

TMC announced early today that it will resume Japan production Monday of Prius along with the Lexus CT 250h and HS 250h at its Tsutsumi and Toyota Motor Kyushu plants.

The vehicle assembly announcement comes one week after Toyota restarted production of replacement parts and three days after reopening plants to produce parts for overseas plants in the aftermath of a massive earthquake/tsunami that struck the country on March 11.
TMC said it is continuing to keep an “eye on progress in production while carefully assessing parts supply.”

The CT 200h is getting rave reviews, rightfully so as it carves out a niche that is just starting to catch on – performance meets efficiency has always been a popular goal for auto enthusiasts. Simply speaking, we will always want the most performance possible without being forced to run premium fuel.

While the CT 200h arrives at Lexus dealers across the US, there is likely to be some interesting changes coming within the dealerships themselves. I don’t know if it would be as exciting as this video, but why not bring in a good DJ, add some lighting and effects and introduce the CT 200h.

MSRP – $29,120

Lexus CT 200h – Pricing

To ensure appeal to this next generation of luxury buyers, the CT 200h will enter the market at a very aggressive price position with a base MSRP of just $29,120 including a wealth of standard equipment such as Safety Connect, XM Satellite Radio, USB connector for iPod/MP3 players, Bluetooth including streaming audio and power lumbar at $1,130 below Audi A3 TDI!

With DPH, the CT entry model will have a starting price of $29,995! The Premium version will add Moonroof and Heated Seats to its extensive standard feature list, and carry an MSRP of $30,900 (without DPH).

The build strategy for CT is very simple, with just a few options available, including Premium Audio, In-mirror Backup Camera, Navigation, or Leather trimmed seats, in addition to the DIO / PPO accessories.
